Plain English
What it means
Before a page can appear in Google Search, Google has to find it, read it and add it to its index — a vast directory of the web. Google usually discovers pages automatically, but indexing every page is not guaranteed.
We make sure the technical requirements are in place and Google can access the right pages. Search Console shows which pages have been indexed and where there are problems. If an important page is missing, we investigate.

Questions about Setup
What is Google Search Console?
A free Google tool for website owners. It shows which pages are in Google’s index, identifies technical issues and reports the search queries for which your pages appear and receive clicks.
How long does it take Google to index a new page?
There is no exact timetable. It can take a few days or several weeks. A sound setup helps Google discover and process the page; Search Console lets you check its status. Submitting a page does not guarantee indexing.
My website is already online. Do I still need this?
If you do not know which pages Google has indexed, yes. Important pages are often missing, sometimes with the status “Discovered — currently not indexed”. Other pages may be indexed even though they should not be.
